Awakening to Aging

A Visual Journey of Aging--Photos by Myrtle Heery, Director IIHS

Dialogue on Challenges in the Aging Process

Aware of and concerned by the fact that our aging population will grow from a current 12% of the population to over 20% by the year 2030, I.I.H.S. has chosen to address this challenge in a manner consistent with our mission to deepen and humanize inter-generational communication.

Our Aging programs:

  • ongoing day-long and half-day programs designed and facilitated by an interdisciplinary group of practitioners (including hospice workers, psychotherapists, neuropsychologists, home and long-term care providers, and other experts in the field of aging).
  • combines the personal and the didactic in a highly interactive format, covering such topics as health concerns, memory loss, caregiving, community support services, spirituality, and end-of-life issues.
  • meets the continuing education units on aging required for marriage and family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, and licensed psychologists in California, in addition, continuing education units available for nurses.
