Unearthing the Moment

Changing Psychotherapy in Changing Times

This training

  • is based on the principles and application of existential-humanistic psychotherapy in individual and group settings
  • focuses on being present and mindful in the actual moment of communication and working with resistance as it arises in an in-depth interchange
  • provides more than self-knowledge, it expands awareness and perceptiveness; it teaches participants to reach beyond their minds into a heartfelt understanding of both self and self in relation to other human beings
  • consists of four three-day courses over a two-year period with opportunities to attend seminars on leading groups and consultations on group and individual work between courses
  • will provide trainees with certificates as stewards of in-depth communication for their application to a broad spectrum of local, national, and international environments, such as psychotherapy, mental health programs, hospices, classrooms, hospitals, and other settings chosen by the graduate

I.I.H.S. is an approved provider of continuing education in California for marriage, family therapists and clinical social workers (#PCE2560), for clinical psychologists, MCEP (#INT031) and continuing education hours for nurses (#14706).
